What kind of person were you before you became your current self?
I know that I like photography since I was in junior high school. Like many Indonesian, my father didn’t think that he need to support my interest in photography as it is not a real job to pursue. And then I ended up studying Management in University to please him (which didn’t relate to anything that I do today). As an obedient child, I studied good in college and targeted to finish it in 4 years. I want to finish college as fast as I can to free myself from that obligation, so I can learn about things that I like. At the 3 rd year of my college, one of my friend brought me back to my old interest; photography. I’ve re-encountered photography, in a different form. My friend showed me Digital Camera. It was my first time seeing it and hold it with my own hands. Back then, that thing was a hot item that is not yet popular nor common. It is as if, I was fallen in love again. Not only the form of its new tool, I also discovered other thing about photography; people can actually get money from it. So then I pursued my dream to become a photographer by joining a small photography course in Bandung.
But I can assure you I would not take this back:
“I will never wear a checkered pattern"
Why is that so?
“Kayak pake sarung coy”
WHY DO YOU THINK YOU NEED TO EMBRACE YOUR QUIRCK? WHY DO YOU THINK EVERYBODY ELSE SHOULD EMBRACE THEIR OWN QUIRCK?
Because “You’ll not be happy being somebody else. It’s exhausting. There’s no need to change yourself.”
WHAT GIVES YOU THE MOST PLEASURE?
Photos. Taking it, or looking at it.
I don’t only like it, I LOVE it. It gives me the most pleasure. Good thing is, I live by being close with it.

my (ex)teacher tell me something ferocious:
“I think your eyes doesn’t shaped to be a photographer. You don’t have the sense for it.”
Well well now, you did have everything to prove him wrong, didn’t you?
DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DIFFERENT THAN MOST PEOPLE?
I am. Comparing with most people in my family, I think more liberally and don’t really care about what other people think of me. But for most people in the industry (red: creative industry), I can be more tolerating to routines and stagnancy. I think I am something in between. Never too much of one thing. We think that his passion for plants, that needs attentive care and discipline, could effects his personally well. Oh and also one more thing!
I don’t like to make statement of my preferences. Like, “I will never do this” or “I will never be like that” or “I hate this thing”. Because I will always be open to novelty, and I think to make such statements will detain me from novelties. But I have one statement that I would never take back, ever. This may sounds not noteworthy, and it probably is, hahahaha.
Well, we can see that he’s in a good state embracing who is. Don’t you think so?
